Delta Airlines had some fun with its new in-flight safety video, turning it into a trip back in time to the 1980s — complete with a cameo by Devo’s Gerald Casale in one of the band’s trademark red "energy hats."
See how many of the ’80s references you can spot:
Obviously someone from Gen X had fun making this. And some of the references are certainly fun to see again (Teddy Ruxpin, anyone?)
But if I’m flying on a modern airline, do I want to think the airline is stuck in the past? And what were they thinking with that horrible drum-machine soundtrack? Can you GET more annoying?
I think it’s great. Most people ignore these important messages. What a great way to get people to stop what they are doing & pay attention. The music fit the mood so well, I enjoyed it.
isn’t that an SNL cast member as the stewardess?
