A new superhero project that is a spinoff of the CW’s "Arrow" has found its female lead. The Hollywood Reporter’s Live Feed reports that the CW pilot "Flash" cast Candice Patton of “The Game” in the role.

The pilot stars “Glee” actor Grant Gustin as Barry Allen/The Flash, while Patton will play Iris West, a graduate student who is also the daughter of Detective West, played by Jesse L. Martin. The character is a love interest for Barry Allen, the piece notes.

“The Flash” is from Warner Bros. Television and will start with a stand-alone pilot, after initial plans to launch it with a backdoor pilot, the story notes.
