CBS and the NFL have taken the wraps off a new deal that will have the CBS broadcast network and the NFL Network joining forces to produce and televise "Thursday Night Football" for the 2014 season and possibly beyond.
CBS will televise eight games early in the season, with those games also to be simulcast on NFL Network. NFL Network will also televise eight games late in the season during the runup to the playoffs. The games will include 14 on Thursday nights and two Saturday games late in the season.
Jim Nantz and Phil Simms will broadcast the games. The NFL has the option to extend the deal for an additional year.
