A long-running comedy-drama series has come to the end of its run after eight seasons on the air. E! Online reports that the USA Network is pulling the plug on "Psych" after its current eighth season ends.

The show, which stars James Roday and Dule Hill, will air its final episode on Wednesday, March 26, at 9 p.m. After the finale, "the entire cast and series creator Steve Franks will take part in a one-hour live show and Q&A at 10 p.m., titled ‘Psych After Show,’" the report notes.

In a statement, USA Network President Chris McCumber said: "Psych has made an indelible imprint on the television landscape, with a unique brand of comedy. The final season celebrates the iconic characters that have made this show so beloved, and will be an exclamation point on the series’ incredible run. And while the series will wrap in March somehow I don’t believe we’ve heard the last of Shawn and Gus."

Following news of the cancellation, Franks tweeted: "It has been an amazing joyride these last eight years. Thanks to everyone who tagged along for the journey."

USA also recently wrapped up "Burn Notice" after seven seasons.
