MTV has greenlighted a female-focused horror movie. Deadline.com reports that the cable channel ordered the project, “The Dorm,” which will star Alexis Knapp of “Pitch Perfect” as she’s made over into a beauty by her dorm mates.

Cassie Steele of “Degrassi” will play the dorm’s leader, who makes Knapp’s character into her personal project. The project, from Nomadic Pictures, is slated to start filming this month.

MTV is also working on another horror project, its remake of the “Scream” movie franchise, although that effort is focused on creating a series.
