Actress Selena Gomez has left a six-week rehab program after just 14 days, departing against the “strenuous objections” of the program’s staff, reports TMZ.com.
Gomez, who starred in the Disney Channel’s “Wizards of Waverly Place,” reportedly checked into The Meadows after New Year’s for alcohol, pot and Ambien, the article says, adding, “in addition to what her people believe is an unhealthy union with Justin Bieber.”
Gomez has had a relationship with pop star Bieber, who has recently had a number of run-ins with the law. As previously reported, pilots on a leased Gulfstream IV luxury jet had to wear oxygen masks because the plane they were flying for Bieber and his friends was so full of marijuana smoke.
“But two weeks in, Selena bailed so she could go the Sundance Film Festival for her upcoming movie," TMZ reports. "She told her people she would return to the rehab facility after Sundance, but when it was over Selena decided she was cured and there was no reason to return."
The article adds: “Problem is … that’s not the way the medical staff at The Meadows sees it … the treatment program is 45-days and Selena bailed four weeks early. We’re told the staff feels it’s essential in any recovery to complete the therapy.”
