‘SNL’ Taps Into Girl Power, Books First-Time Host

NBC’s sketch comedy show "Saturday Night Live" has announced the guest host and musical guest for the March 8 show, and for the first time, Lena Dunham, the creator and star of the HBO comedy "Girls," will host the show, E! News reports.

The musical guest that night will be the National.

Dunham tweeted about the gig, writing: "Thank you for the SNL love. Dream come true. Can’t wait to debut my character ‘girl who googled serial killers all night & has lots to say’!"

The report adds: "She then tweeted two of SNL’s castmembers, saying, ‘ps @aidybryant @thesheertruth all the ladies of SNL I am cumming 4 u.’"

Dunham’s HBO show is midway through its third season, with a new episode set to air Sunday, March 9, the report notes.
