An actor known for his work on "The Wire" has joined an upcoming CBS comedy project. Deadline.com reports that Wendell Pierce has been cast in Matthew Perry’s reboot of “The Odd Couple."

The new version of the TV classic, which will be co-written and executive produced by Perry, will feature Perry as the slobby Oscar Madison and Thomas Lennon as the ultra-neat Felix Unger.

Pierce will portray a friend of Oscar’s named Teddy, a neurotic policeman who attends a weekly game night at Oscar and Felix’s apartment.
