A popular comedian who has starred in a series of TV shows — with a new one set to premiere this week — was arrested late last week in Canada. TMZ.com reports that George Lopez was arrested for public intoxication after he passed out on a casino floor.

Lopez, who had performed at the Caesars Windsor in Ontario earlier that night before he passed out on the floor of the casino’s bar, isn’t facing charges, the story reports. He was “pretty much dumped in a drunk tank to let him sober up,” the piece notes.

The comedian later said in a statement that he “tied one on last night,” according to the Los Angeles Times’ Show Tracker.

“Not feeling great this morning. I was trying to sleep it off, unfortunately, it was on the casino floor," the statement said.

The arrest came just days before Lopez’ “Saint George” is set to debut March 6. The FX show features Lopez as a recently divorced Mexican-American who seeks to balance work and family life.

Lopez starred in "The George Lopez Show" on ABC from 2002-2007, and hosted TBS’s "Lopez Tonight" from 2009-2011.

  1. At least he wasn’t behind the wheel of a car. Best to pass out on the floor of a casino than what some of these performers do when they have car keys in their hands.

  2. In a culture where binge drinking is one big dude-i-was-so-wasted joke, George will get all the enabling he needs, until he completely ruins his career. Party on. Sorry, I remember when being drunk was a disgrace.

  3. So his wife risks her life to give him an organ he divorced her then drinks her kidney away.

  4. These lucky, you found
