In what Deadline calls “one of the biggest casting coups for Fox this season,” the network has cast British actor and writer Nick Frost in a lead role in the comedy pilot “Sober Companion,” the website reports.
Frost will play Robert, a self-destructive attorney who is given a court-appointed sober companion, played by Justin Long. After doing a face-plant in court, Robert is assigned the companion for 90 days, or else will lose his job.
The job is is the first American TV role for Frost, who played Ed in “Shaun of the Dead” and Danny Butterman in “Hot Fuzz.”
