With the planned departure of Disney/ABC Television Group President Anne Sweeney, Disney Chief Executive Bob Iger might look to two appointments to replace her, reports the New York Post.
Sweeney oversees the ABC Network, Disney’s cable channels and the station group. As previously reported, she announced she’s stepping down to become a TV director.
Iger may split her role in two, with one new appointee running cable and international, while the other handles the broadcast divisions, the story notes.
“Two internal candidates have hit the top of the rumor mill already — Rebecca Campbell, president of ABC Owned Television Stations Group, is being eyed to run the cable and international portion of the business, and ABC News President Ben Sherwood would take on broadcast responsibilities for daytime and ABC entertainment,” the piece reports.
