An actor who earned an Oscar nomination for “The Right Stuff” will co-star in a new Netflix series. Deadline.com reports that Sam Shepard has been cast in the untitled thriller.
The 13-episode series is about a family of four siblings whose secrets and past hurts are exposed when one of their brothers returns. Shepard will play the family’s patriarch, joining Oscar winner Sissy Spacek, who was previously cast as his wife.
The siblings will be portrayed by Kyle Chandler, Ben Mendelsohn, Linda Cardellini and Norbert Leo Butz. The project is written and executive produced by “Damages” creator Todd A. Kessler, Daniel Zelman and Glenn Kessler, the story notes.
Spacek won an Academy Award in 1981 for "Coal Miner’s Daughter."
