TNT is calling it a record for basic cable: a summer slate that features 10 original series, TheWrap.com reports. The lineup includes the new Steven Bochco series “Murder in the First,” set to premiere June 9.

"In addition to returning series ‘Rizzoli & Isles,’ ‘Dallas’ and ‘Franklin & Bash,’ the network’s summer slate will include the new crime drama “Murder in the First,” from executive producer Steven Bochco (‘NYPD Blue,’ ‘Cop Rock’). The series will focus on one intense, complicated case across an entire season," the story reports.

The season three premiere of "Major Crimes," set for June 9 at 9 p.m., kicks off the summer slate.

Said Michael Wright, president, head of programming, for TNT, TBS and Turner Classic Movies: “This summer TNT is continuing to expand and energize its lineup with both returning audience favorites and new series that speak to the future direction of our brand promise: If you love drama that thrills, turn to TNT. We’re excited to offer our audience a variety of programming — action-adventure, crime-drama, mystery and suspense — all delivering on our promise to take viewers on a thrilling ride and leave them satisfied at the end.”
