Vogue editor Anna Wintour came under fire from some of the magazine’s readers for its April issue, which features reality TV star Kim Kardashian and Kanye West on the cover, reports TheWrap.com.

The couple, who will soon marry, didn’t inspire feelings of love among Vogue’s readers. Sarah Michelle Gellar, the star of CBS’s “The Crazy Ones,” was one of the people complaining, writing on Twitter, “Well……I guess I’m canceling my Vogue subscription. Who is with me???”

Readers also voiced their displeasure on Vogue’s Facebook page, with more than 700 postings, most of them critical of the cover feature, the story notes.

“Traditionally, scoring a Vogue cover has been a feat reserved for and accomplished by Hollywood A-listers, award-winning directors or producers and top fashion industry figures,” the story notes. Many feel that Kardashian is only “famous for being famous,” the report adds.

Wintour wrote an editor’s letter defending the decision.

“Kanye is an amazing performer and cultural provocateur, while Kim, through her strength of character, has created a place for herself in the glare of the world’s spotlight, and it takes real guts to do that,” Wintour wrote.
