Discovery Channel has ordered a live late-night program that will air from Mount Everest. EW.com's Inside TV reports that the talk show, “Everest: Live From Base Camp,” will air for five nights in May and will lead up to the two-hour Discovery program “Everest Jump Live."

“Everest: Live From Base Camp” will start its run May 5 at 11 p.m. ET and will be hosted by Kyle Martino and Chris Jacobs of NBC Sports. The pair will talk each night with Joby Ogwyn, who plans to jump from the top of Mount Everest in a special that will air May 11 at 9 p.m. ET.

The talk show will also feature interviews with guests including Sherpa guides, climbers and medics.

In a statement, Eileen O’Neill, group president, Discovery, Science and Velocity Networks, said: “These nightly live programs will give viewers a chance to see what it’s like to actually be at Everest Base Camp — not just for Joby, but for all those who contribute to Everest’s unique culture.”
