NBC came out on top by a razor-thin margin in the Tuesday night broadcast ratings as its singing competition "The Voice" equaled the season low it delivered a week ago, based on Nielsen overnights for the key 18-49 demo. Meanwhile, CBS saw its entire prime-time lineup — all three drama series — match historic lows in the demo.

TVbytheNumbers.com reports that "The Voice" pulled in another 2.9 average rating in viewers 18-49, while NBC edged CBS by one-tenth of a ratings point for prime time overall, averaging a 2.1 to CBS's 2.0.

CBS's lineup of "NCIS," "NCIS: Los Angeles" and "Person of Interest" all equaled their historic lows in the 18-49 demo. "NCIS" was off 19% from last week with a 2.1, "NCIS: LA" dipped 8% to a 2.1 and "Person of Interest" slipped 11% from its most recent original to a 1.7.

NBC's "Chicago Fire" fell 6% from last week to pull a 1.7 in 18-49, a season low. NBC's comedies, meanwhile improved: "About a Boy" rose 12% to a 1.9 after hitting a series low a week ago, and "Growing Up Fisher" ticked up 7% to a 1.6 after also registering a series low last week.

ABC's season premiere of "Celebrity Wife Swap" managed only a 1.0 average in adults 18-49, 23% below the show's summer premiere last year and down 58% from the winter premiere in February 2013. But "Marvel's Agents of SHIELD" rose 5% from last week to a 2.0.

Fifth-place Fox's "New Girl" returned from hiatus to a series low with a 1.1 average in 18-49, falling 8% from its most recent installment. "The Mindy Project" dipped 9% from last week to a 1.0 and "Glee" equaled the 1.0 it delivered a week ago.

For prime time overall, NBC won the 18-49 demo with a 2.1 average, followed by CBS (2.0 average), ABC (1.3), Univision (1.2) and Fox (1.0). CBS had a huge lead in total viewers, averaging 14.0 million to lead NBC (8.4 million), ABC (3.8 million), Univision (3.0 million) and Fox (2.3 million).
