Animal Planet celebrated a milestone Sunday, with the most-watched season premiere in the cable network's history. TheWrap.com reports that the show that pulled off the accomplishment is “River Monsters.”
The series drew 1.7 million total viewers for its sixth-season premiere Sunday, the largest-ever total audience for a season premiere on the network, the story notes. The series features extreme angler Jeremy Wade as he travels the world in search of dangerous fish and river creatures such as piranhas and crocodiles.
The show also was the most-watched premiere in Animal Planet’s history in the 18-49 demographic and in males 18-49, the story adds.
