Brad Pitt was attacked Wednesday at the Hollywood premiere of Angelina Jolie's new movie. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Pitt was attacked by Vitalii Sediuk, described as a “Ukrainian prankster,” at the premiere of “Maleficent."
“At around 7.30 p.m., Brad Pitt was at the El Capitan Theatre on the red carpet when a male jumped over the barricade and made contact with him," an LAPD representative told the publication.
Sediuk, 25, was arrested and booked on suspicion of misdemeanor battery, the story notes. Witnesses said a man either punched or slapped Pitt in the face, and that security guards quickly intervened.
Sediuk has approached other stars on the red carpet, including hiding under America Ferrera’s dress at the “How to Train Your Dragon 2” premiere at Cannes and trying to kiss Will Smith at the Russian premiere of “Men in Black III,” the story adds.
Pitt wasn’t injured in the incident, the report notes.
