Comedy Central Buys FX Series in Off-Network Deal

May 7, 2014  •  Post A Comment

Comedy Central has bought the off-network rights to an FX series. Deadline.com reports that the deal covers all existing seasons and commitments for future seasons of the animated comedy “Archer."

The deal is an “elusive basic cable-to-basic cable syndication deal,” the story notes, adding that the deal comes after FX set up the show for an off-network sale last spring when it renewed the series for a sixth and seventh season.

“Archer” will start airing on Comedy Central as soon as May 2015. The deal includes an exclusive window for the show before midnight, while FXX has exclusive rights after midnight, the piece adds.
