The Daytime Emmy nominations were announced today, and one network found itself well ahead of the pack in terms of the number of nomintions. That network is CBS, with 61 nods.
CBS's closest competitors among the big four broadcast nets are ABC with 30 nominations and NBC with 18. Overall, syndicated programming took 50 nominations, with 44 nods going to PBS and 37 for Nickelodeon.
The most-nominated show among daytime dramas is "The Young and the Restless" with 26 nods, followed by "The Bold and the Beautiful" with 18 and "General Hospital" with 16. "Sesame Street" cracks the top five with 15 nominations, ahead of "Days of Our Lives" with 14.
"The Ellen DeGeneres Show" leads all talk shows with nine nominations.
The Daytime Emmy Awards will be presented June 22 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel, preceded by the Daytime Creative Arts Emmy Awards Gala set for June 20 at the Westin Bonaventure in Los Angeles.
