Fox has placed a series order for a project from Steven Spielberg. The Los Angeles Times’ Show Tracker reports that the network ordered “Red Band Society,” which is produced by Spielberg.

The series is set in the pediatric wing of a hospital and is about a group of high school students who become friends. It stars Oscar winner Octavia Spencer from “The Help,” as well as Dave Annable and Charlie Rowe.

"This is one of the most ambitious and unorthodox shows in anyone's development this year," Fox said in an announcement. "It represents a completely inspired way into young soap, a comedic one-hour, a hospital show and a (surrogate) family drama."
