Fox has promoted an actor who has become a big part of its comedy “New Girl” to series regular. The Hollywood Reporter’s Live Feed notes that the promotion for Damon Wayans Jr. isn’t surprising given that he appeared in 17 consecutive episodes during the show’s third season.
The actor appeared in the show’s pilot, but left the comedy after it was ordered to series because ABC’s “Happy Endings” had earned an unexpected second-season renewal, the story notes. After “Happy Endings” came to an end in 2013, Wayans was free to return to “New Girl.”
