Lifetime is working on a telefilm about the true story of one of the Cleveland kidnapping victims of Ariel Castro. EW.com’s Inside TV reports that the project will focus on the story of Michelle Knight.
Knight was abducted by Castro in 2002, when she was 21, a single mom and fighting for custody of her toddler, the story notes. She was held prisoner in his home for 11 years before she and fellow victims Amanda Berry and Gina DeJesus escaped last year.
Lifetime has adapted other true-life stories for its programming, including “Bonnie & Clyde” and “Liz & Dick.”
