NBC has announced a renewal for one of television's longest-running series. EW.com’s Inside TV reports that the network gave another season order to the police procedural “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit,” taking the drama series to 16 seasons.
The show has been averaging a 2.5 rating, 7 share in adults 18-49 and 8.4 million viewers overall, which the article notes “ain’t too shabby.” It’s also a 16% increase in total viewers and a 19% bump in adults 18-49 compared with a year earlier.
The original "Law & Order," from which "SVU" was spun off in 1999, lasted 20 seasons, airing from 1990-2010.
