An acclaimed Netflix original series has been renewed for another season on the streaming video service. Deadline.com reports that Netflix picked up "Orange Is the New Black" for season three.
The news comes about one month before the June 6 rollout of the show's second season. All of season two's 13 episodes will become available on that date.
The report notes: "The Jenji Kohan-created prison dramedy stars Taylor Schilling, Jason Biggs, [Laura] Prepon and Kate Mulgrew. It is competing in the comedy Emmy category this season after being submitted as a drama (and largely shut out) at the Golden Globes. It has had better luck elsewhere though, earning a Peabody Award and over the weekend winning Outstanding Comedy at the GLAAD Media Awards."
