Showtime has ordered a documentary from “The L Word” creator Ilene Chaiken that will look at gay women living in Bible Belt towns in Mississippi, The Hollywood Reporter’s Live Feed reports.

Called “L Word Mississippi: Hate the Sin,” the 90-minute program will look at a dozen women living in towns such as Gulfport and Hattiesburg, including a former pastor who was banished from her church but started an LGBTQ support group.

Showtime aired six seasons of the scripted drama “The L Word,” which starred Jennifer Beals, and three seasons of the docuseries “The Real L Word.” The new documentary will debut Aug. 8 at 9 p.m.
