NBC’s “Meet the Press” has had a setback with the departure of a longtime producer. The New York Post’s Page Six reports that Chris Donovan left the show after 12 years to work instead for ABC’s “This Week."

The departure comes amid a ratings slump for “Meet the Press,” which is hosted by David Gregory. As previously reported, Gregory has said the show is fighting “like hell” to improve its viewership.

The story reports: “Donovan, who started at ABC last week, was fed up with embattled Gregory and the direction of 'Meet the Press,' sources tell Page Six, which has sunk to third place in the ratings, behind CBS’s 'Face the Nation' and ABC’s 'This Week.'”

Donovan told the publication, “I had an incredible run at ‘Meet the Press,’ and left only because I was given an amazing opportunity at ABC News. Any suggestion that I was mistreated is not true. I have a great relationship with David.”

And Gregory said: “I think the world of Chris Donovan, and I know, having spoken to him today, that he did not say nor does he feel what is being attributed to him.”

  1. I’m writing to comment on this Grand Jury in Ferguson, MO. It seems to me that the reason the community is already expecting the jury to not indict Wilson is because the grand jury needs only nine votes to not indict and all of those people are White as only three people on that jury are Black. Of course the Blacks are expecting that this grand Jury will not indict.
