Fox Won’t Burn Off Episodes of Halted Comedy

Fox has abandoned the idea of burning off episodes of a comedy series that attracted some promising reviews but never made it to air.

The network had held out the possibility of burning off the seven episodes that were made of “Us & Them,” but now that won’t be happening, reports Joe Adalian in New York Magazine’s Vulture. The show, which stars Jason Ritter and Alexis Bledel, is a remake of the British comedy “Gavin and Stacy.”

Also in the cast of the U.S. show are Jane Kaczmarek and Michael Ian Black.

The series "has been a dead show walking since last October, when the network halted production on the series, released the actors and basically told everyone to go home,” Adalian writes. Fox had originally ordered 13 episodes, but cut back the order to the seven episodes that had been made at the time.

Adalian adds: “There’s still a slim chance viewers might yet see the episodes elsewhere, however. Producer Sony Pictures Television could decide to put ‘Us & Them’ on its own online streaming platform (Crackle), or it could strike a deal with a streaming network such as Amazon Prime or Hulu for the rights."
