The Council on American-Islamic Relations is asking critics to watch for and address any potential stereotyping of Arab and Muslim culture on the new FX drama “Tyrant,” reports the Los Angeles Times’ Show Tracker.

The group is reaching out to critics after attending a pilot screening.

“In the pilot of FX's 'Tyrant,' Arab Muslim culture is devoid of any redeeming qualities and is represented by terrorists, murderous children, rapists, corrupt billionaires and powerless female victims," said CAIR national communications director Ibrahim Hooper. "In 'Tyrant,' even the 'good' Arab Muslims are bad."

“Tyrant” debuts Tuesday and tracks an American family that gets wrapped up in the political machinery of a Middle East country.
