Netflix has set the cast of its upcoming science-fiction drama series from the Wachowskis and J. Michael Straczynski, with “Lost” alum Naveen Andrews and Daryl Hannah among those joining the cast of "Sense8," Deadline.com reports.
The cast also includes Brian J. Smith of “Stargate Universe” and British actors Tuppence Middleton, who will appear in the Wachowskis’ film “Jupiter Ascending,” and Freema Agyeman of “Doctor Who.”
“Up until now, Netflix and the creators had not revealed details about the project beyond calling it ‘a gripping global tale of minds linked and souls hunted’ that incorporates the Wachowskis’ storytelling style,” the story reports.
Straczynksi told Deadline that the drama will follow “eight characters around the world who, in the aftermath of a tragic death, find themselves linked to each other mentally and emotionally.”
He added: “They can not only see and talk to each other as though they were in the same place, they have access to each other’s deepest secrets.”
Hannah is known mainly for her work in feature films, including "Kill Bill," "Splash" and "Steel Magnolias."
