Oprah Winfrey's OWN has ordered an eight-episode docuseries for a fall debut. Deadline.com reports that the cable channel ordered the pilot “Flex & Shanice” to series.
The show tracks actor Flex Alexander and his wife, 1990s pop singer Shanice, and their two children as they live with their extended family. Altogether, nine family members live in a rental home as they share the cost. The program will air on Saturday nights.
A preview that aired last month ranked as the No. 1-rated nonsports cable telecast among African-American women between 25-54 and 18-49 for that night, the story adds.
