A well-known television actor who is accused of murder in the death of his wife was in court today to enter a plea in the case. CNN reports that Michael Jace, known for his role on the cop drama "Shield," pleaded not guilty in a Los Angeles court.

"His attorney did not object when the judge set bond at $2 million and ordered Jace, 51, to have no contact with his two children," the story reports. "A preliminary hearing, in which investigators are expected to testify about why they arrested Jace in the May 19 shooting death, is set for August 1."

Preliminary autopsy results indicated that April Jace, 40, died from "multiple gunshot wounds," the report notes, with the Los Angeles County coroner ruling her death a homicide. The two children were reportedly at home when their mother was shot.
