As ‘True Blood’ Winds Down, a New TV Movie Franchise Based on the Author’s Work Is on the Way

A new TV movie franchise based on a book series by Charlaine Harris, the author of the vampire series that is the basis of HBO's "True Blood," is in development at Hallmark, The Hollywood Reporter’s Live Feed reports.

The new project is based on the eight-book Aurora Teagarden series, the story reports.

The adaptation comes as “True Blood,” based on Harris’ book series featuring the character Sookie Stackhouse, is winding down. The Teagarden series will air on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries, the story says.

“Full House” actress Candace Cameron Bure will play Aurora Teagarden, a librarian and mystery novel lover who is part of the Real Murders Club. The group gets together to analyze famous mysteries, and Teagarden ends up at the center of different crimes in her town, the story says.
