BBC Worldwide said that leaked “Doctor Who” scripts were caused by a “damaging mistake,” and apologized to the show’s makers, the BBC reports.
The broadcaster said disciplinary action is being taken, adding that the five scripts were leaked when they were placed in a publicly accessible area online.
“BBC Worldwide has taken this issue extremely seriously and disciplinary action has been implemented as a result of the incident," the statement said. "While there is still a risk that this leak will result in more of this content emerging, so far the impact has been contained."
The new season will launch next month, with actor Peter Capaldi in his debut as the new Time Lord.
