The ABC fairy tale drama "Once Upon a Time" has a lot riding on its "Frozen" story line, and now it has its key "Frozen" character Elsa. The Hollywood Reporter's Live Feed reports that the series has cast Australian actress Georgina Haig in the coveted role of Elsa.

Haig currently stars in the CBS summer drama series "Reckless."

"The character of Elsa was introduced at the end of the season-three finale and is expected to make her grand entrance in the premiere this fall. Haig will heavily recur," THR reports.

Previous castings for the show include newcomer Elizabeth Lail as Anna, Elsa's younger sister, and Scott Michael Foster as Kristoff, a love interest for Anna.

"In Disney's blockbuster 'Frozen,' Kristoff was voiced by Jonathan Groff, Anna was voiced by Kristen Bell and Elsa was voiced by Broadway star Idina Menzel," THR notes. "'Frozen has made $1.26 billion at the worldwide box office since its November 2013 release and won two Academy Awards, one for best animated feature and the other for best original song for 'Let It Go,' performed by Menzel."

The report notes that "Once Upon a Time" executive producer Edward Kitsis recently said of Elsa: "[What] we loved so much about the character of Elsa was that she was considered a villain but she never really was. She was misunderstood. That, on our show, speaks to us so strongly that it was a toy we had to play with."

Executive producer Adam Horowitz recently told the publication that the ABC show is "honored" to get to work in the "Frozen" universe, adding: "We fell in love with [the movie] when it came out last year like everyone did, and we want to do our best to do it justice."
