Actress Jean Kasem, the widow of radio icon Casey Kasem, has reportedly been dumped by the attorneys who have been representing her, and the reason is a not-so-surprising one: She allegedly owes them money.
“According to documents filed in Casey Kasem’s conservatorship … attorneys at Haney & Young are asking the court to relieve them as counsel for Jean, ASAP,” TMZ.com reports. “The lawyers claim Jean rarely responds to their emails — and refuses to communicate by phone — and worst of all … she’s racked up $500,000 in unpaid fees during her various legal battles.”
The firm reportedly sent a letter to Jean Kasem warning her that she must pay her overdue fees or it will take the money out of Casey Kasem’s estate.
Meanwhile, Casey Kasem’s body remains missing, according to reports, amid the ongoing family feud between Jean Kasem and Casey’s children. Reports this week hinted that the body of Casey Kasem, who died June 15 in Washington state, may have been shipped to Montreal.
