Two CNN Personalities May Be Headed to ‘The View’

Two people who are familiar on-air personalities at CNN may join the ABC daytime talk staple “The View,” replacing outgoing hosts Sherri Shepherd and Jenny McCarthy, TVNewser reports.

They are CNN “Crossfire” co-host S.E. Cupp and CNN legal analyst Sunny Hostin, who have both already filled in on the daytime talk show and have taken part in private “chemistry tests” with Rosie O’Donnell and Whoopi Goldberg. O’Donnell and Goldberg are returning as hosts.

TMZ.com reports that O’Donnell got into a fight with Cupp over abortion during one of the tests. O’Donnell ended up saying that she didn’t want another Elisabeth Hasselbeck on the show, referring to the former host with conservative views.

“Chemistry tests were conducted yesterday with Whoopi and Rosie,” a show representative told TVNewser. “The chemistry tests were intended to be confidential. Any names out there were not released by the network nor will they be. No decisions have been made and there is nothing to announce at this time.”

  1. It sounds like Rosie wants her own little echo box instead of a discussion group that includes all points of view. So much for being “inclusive.”
