A new survey conducted by TiVo names the new dramas and comedy series that the company says viewers are looking forward to the most.

The survey cites CBS’s “NCIS: New Orleans” as the most eagerly anticipated new drama, with Fox’s “Gotham” coming in second.

Among the new crop of comedies, NBC’s “Bad Judge” ranked as the most highly anticipated, followed in second place by CBS’s “The McCarthys.”

“Awareness remains low for many of the new fall series, with the exception of the familiar ‘NCIS’ franchise’s adding ‘NCIS: New Orleans,’ a title 47 percent of respondents already know well,” TiVo notes in its announcement. “Twenty-six percent of the respondents report they are not familiar with any of the new broadcast series, while 31 percent are familiar with ‘Gotham,’ 26 percent with ABC’s ‘How to Get Away With Murder’ and 24 percent with CBS’s ‘Madam Secretary.’ CW’s new superhero entry, ‘The Flash,’ had only an 18 percent awareness overall, but 25 percent among men and among persons ages 18-34.”

  1. I must be in the minority, but I just have not enjoyed what DC has been doing with their properties for a while now – even though I LOVE comics, superheroes, and things like that. I can’t get into Green Arrow. Tuned in for the “pilot” Flash episode during Arrow and didn’t really enjoy it. Now Gotham is the next big thing, but I never cared about the city or the ancillary characters in those stories like I did about Batman. So, I don’t know that I’ll like it if he’s not there. Smallville succeeded – to others – despite not really having Superman, but can Gotham work without Batman at all? Maybe they will even be able to tie-in the show to their movie properties to give a broader sense of the DC Universe. If they are lucky, they will hit the same notes that SHIELD did for me, where I was skeptical at first, but ended up really enjoying it thanks to good characters and a great movie tie-in with Captain America that changed the whole series.
