One Winning Ticket Was Sold in Last Night’s $321 Million Mega Millions Lottery Drawing. It Was the 20th Richest Lottery Drawing in U.S. History

There was but one winning ticket sold in Tuesday night’s Mega Millions Lottery drawing that had a jackpot of $321 million. It was the 20th richest lottery drawing in U.S. history.

The winning ticket was sold in Middletown, New York, which is about 70 miles north of Manhattan in the Hudson River Valley.

The winning numbers were 9, 15, 24, 39 and 41, plus the Mega Ball of 1.

The one-time cash payout would be close to $194 million. If the option taken is 29 annual payments, the payout is about $11 million a year.

The only states that do not participate in the Mega Millions lottery are Alabama, Alaska, Hawaii, Mississippi, Nevada and Utah. Puerto Rico also does not participate.
