TBS has pledged another season to an animated series that was picked up by the cable channel after it was canceled by Fox. TheWrap.com reports that TBS renewed “American Dad” for 22 additional episodes.

The renewal comes about a month after the show began its first original TBS season, following its run on Fox from 2005-2014. The next TBS season will come with a new showrunner, with Brian Boyle tapped for the role.

“Since coming to TBS last month, ‘American Dad’ has ranked as one of basic cable’s Top 5 entertainment programs in its timeslot among adults 18-49. The current season is averaging 3.1 million viewers in combined audience for each week’s premiere on TBS and subsequent encore on sister network Adult Swim,” the story reports.
