An actress who was recently featured on the Showtime series “Weeds” has signed on for a new project from Jerry Bruckheimer and Michael Bay. Deadline.com reports that TNT has cast “Weeds” co-star Elizabeth Perkins in the drug-focused untitled Miami project.

The project, which is written by “Masters of Sex” creator and executive producer Michelle Ashford, is set in Florida amid the drug trade of the 1970s. Perkins will portray Josephine “Jojo” Nickel, who raised her son Bobby as a single mother. Her character has her sights set on her son’s father-in-law, the story says.

Perkins’ role on “Weeds” brought the actress three Emmy nominations.
