A new drama series in the works at ABC comes from a writer and producer who has worked on the two biggest franchises at CBS. Deadline.com reports that ABC is developing a legal procedural called “Emma Cavendish,” which is from ABC Studios and written by “NCIS” co-executive producer Chris Silber.

The project is about a young attorney who uncovers a family secret, putting her personal and professional life in upheaval, the story reports.

Silber is executive producing with Emile Gladstone, for whom the deal marks one of his first major sales since starting Emile Gladstone Productions in March, the piece adds.

Along with the “NCIS” franchise, Silber has been behind the scenes on the CBS drama juggernaut “CSI,” including two seasons on “CSI: New York.”
