A surprise is in store for viewers of Sunday’s Super Bowl halftime show, according to the singer who will be center stage. Katy Perry hinted that she will be joined by a superstar for a duet, but the songstress refused to reveal who it will be, the U.K. publication The Mirror reports.
At a press conference, Perry said: “There is someone, this is true….It’s a throwback of sorts that definitely needed some shine. All I can say is that it will be female fun night but when this person enters the stage, jaws will drop and faces will melt.”
Writes the Associated Press, “[A] person familiar with the plans for the halftime show told The Associated Press that the surprise guest is slated to be Grammy winner Missy Elliott, who was featured on a remix of Perry’s song “Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.).” The person spoke to the AP on condition of anonymity because Elliott’s participation had not been announced by the NFL.”
