“Sex and the City’s” Sarah Jessica Parker will return to HBO as the star and executive producer of a new single-camera comedy series, “Divorce.” Media reports confirmed that the pay-cable channel gave a series order to the project Thursday.

HBO did not reveal how many episodes were ordered.

“Sex and the City” was a hit for the pay-cable channel and a key player in its reputation-building “It’s Not TV. It’s HBO” era. The show wrapped up a six-season run in 2004.

“Written by Irish writer-actress Sharon Horgan, ‘Divorce’ was sold to HBO with Parker attached in her first major TV acting commitment since ‘Sex and the City,'” Deadline.com reports. “The pilot, directed by Jesse Peretz and co-starring Thomas Haden Church, Molly Shannon and Talia Balsam, had been garnering momentum since it was delivered to HBO.”

Horgan, the show’s creator, will also executive produce. The show is reportedly set to begin shooting this year in New York.
