Fox News Channel to Try Its Hand at Comedy, Parody

Taking a cue from Comedy Central’s “The Daily Show,” which has often aimed its sights at Fox News, FNC is set to launch its own attempt at comedy and parody.

Variety reports: “The 21st Century Fox-owned outlet said it would launch a ‘comedic news hour’ on Sunday nights hosted by Greg Gutfeld. ‘The Greg Gutfeld Show’ will debut on May 31st at 10 p.m., and will feature ‘parodies on current events, conversation on key issues and signature monologues showcasing Gutfeld’s eclectic humor,’ the network said Thursday.”

The show will reportedly feature newsmaker interviews along with media personalities and culture critics. Fox News contributor Joanne Nosuchinsky is among those who will be reporting in.

Gutfeld will keep his day job as a co-host of Fox News Channel’s “The Five.”

  1. To me, Fox News has ALWAYS been comedic parody.

  2. If they’d only try actual news reporting…

  3. Oh, I can’t wait. I always thought Fox News’ usual dour coverage was easy to satirize. Can’t wait till sharp wits tear into Fox News when they’re TRYING to be funny.

  4. There will be more truth reported in a Fox News comedy than in a week of coverage on CNN or the networks.

  5. Here we go again (sigh)

  6. I just have a feeling that this is going to really suck! LOL
