A critically acclaimed series has been picked up for a third season ahead of its season two premiere. Amazon announced that it has greenlighted season three of “Transparent.”

The show won two Golden Globe Awards this year — Best Television Series, Comedy or Musical; and Best Performance by an Actor in a Comedy or Musical TV Series, for Jeffrey Tambor.

Season two is due to roll out later this year, with season three now on tap for 2016.

Along with Tambor, the main cast members, including Judith Light, Gaby Hoffmann, Amy Landecker and Jay Puplass, are signed on for season three.

Show creator Jill Soloway has signed an overall deal with Amazon Studios to develop TV projects. She will remain as showrunner on “Transparent,” with Andrea Sperling being elevated to executive producer.
