One of the mainstays of the acclaimed drama series “Breaking Bad” finally has his next series lined up. The Wall Street Journal reports that Aaron Paul will star in the new Hulu drama series “The Way.”

The announcement comes two years after Paul wrapped his run as Walter White sideman Jesse Pinkman on “Breaking Bad” — a role that won Paul three Emmy Awards for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series.

In addition to starring, Paul will be a producer on “The Way,” which also stars “True Detective’s” Michelle Monaghan.

“The news comes after Paul joked over the weekend about plans for a ‘Breaking Bad’ spinoff, triggering a lot of angry and heartbroken responses,” the story reports. “He took to Twitter on Monday to apologize.”

“The Way” focuses on a crisis of faith involving Eddie Cleary, played by Paul and his wife, Sarah (Monaghan). Created and written by Jessica Goldberg, the show is scheduled to roll out this winter.
