A key member of the team behind the cameras at ABC’s “The View” is the latest departure for the daytime show, which has endured its share of staff changes recently.
Deadline.com reports that director Ashley S. Gorman has left the show.
“Gorman was part of the new producing team brought in last summer for the current 18th season, the first without co-creators/executive producers Barbara Walters and Bill Geddie at the helm,” Deadline reports. “Led by new executive producer Bill Wolff, the team included Brian Balthazar as co-executive producer and Gorman as director. Balthazar left in February to return to HGTV, three months after ABC News took over the talker amid ratings woes and a week before the abrupt departure of co-host Rosie O’Donnell.”
The report notes that further changes could be coming, given that Whoopi Goldberg is the only one of the on-air personalities who currently has a deal in place for next season.
Gorman is reportedly relocating to the West Coast but will remain with the Disney ABC TV Group.
