E!’s “Fashion Police,” which has undergone turmoil since the death of longtime host Joan Rivers, has come up with a strategy moving forward. Deadline.com reports that Rivers’ daughter, Melissa Rivers, will move in front of the cameras, taking over her mom’s spot on the show.

Melissa Rivers will remain an executive producer on the program, along with Lisa Bacon.

E! announced today that the show rill return Aug. 31, with six episodes slated.

Rivers will co-host with returnees Giuliana Rancic and Brad Goreski. The program will launch with coverage of the MTV Music Video Awards.

The plan is to complement the three core hosts with a rotating lineup of celebrity guests, comedians, stylists and actors.

Earlier this year, both Kelly Osbourne and Kathy Griffin left their spots as co-hosts.
