A new round of layoffs has hit cable networks owned by NBCUniversal. The Hollywood Reporter’s Live Feed reports that E! and Esquire got the bad news Thursday.
“Approximately 20 to 30 employees were let go, accounting for less than 7 percent of the company’s workforce. The cuts hit E! Network’s news, digital and marketing team as well as Esquire’s marketing team,” THR reports.
The report notes that plans were announced in February to integrate the marketing teams at E! and Esquire, along with plans to tweak the E! News and online teams.
In a statement, a spokesperson for E! said: “We have made a small reduction in head count to maximize efficiencies in those areas as a result.”
